Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Telehealth PMHNP
Overview
You will own a panel of patients in a telehealth outpatient setting, delivering individual psychiatric care through PMHNP expertise. You will conduct assessments, build treatment plans, and prescribe medications with full clinical autonomy, free from hospital or corporate constraints. You will join a clinician-led team that pairs you with collaborating therapists, meeting at least monthly to review cases. This role offers flexible scheduling, remote work, and support from weekly virtual clinical conferences, making it distinct in its focus on clinician independence and team-based care.
What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations via telehealth, forming accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- 2Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring patient response and adjusting as needed.
- 3Collaborate with a matched team of therapists, attending monthly staffing meetings to review patient cases and clinical topics.
- 4Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- 5Attend at least one virtual clinical conference per week during the first 90 days, then monthly thereafter.
- 6Coordinate with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure holistic patient care.
- 7Manage a patient panel with autonomy, determining your own schedule including hours and days.
- 8Participate in ongoing education and stay current with psychiatric research and treatment modalities.
Requirements7
- 1PMHNP license required, with willingness to obtain licensure in additional states.
- 2Prior experience as a PMHNP preferred but not required.
- 3Strong background in psychiatry, including diagnosis of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacological treatments.
- 4Familiarity with non-pharmacological interventions.
- 5Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare professionals.
- 6Solid computer and technology skills, including telehealth platforms.
- 7Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Salary Insight
