You will own the full lifecycle of survey projects in the Power Division at Westwood Professional Services, Inc., from planning and execution to QA/QC. You will direct a team of surveyors and technicians, coordinate with project managers, and serve as the technical expert on boundary analysis, construction staking, and legal descriptions. With 10+ years of experience and a professional survey license, you will lead complex projects for solar, wind, and battery storage. What You'll Do7

  • 1Lead planning and implementation of survey projects, monitoring operational effectiveness and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • 2Serve as subject matter expert for construction staking, topographic surveying, platting, legal description writing, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, and legal principles.
  • 3Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project tasks, schedules, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with budgets and scopes.
  • 4Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures, and conduct team meetings to evaluate project progress and coordinate efforts.
  • 5Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • 6Own quality control and quality assurance for all survey activities, ensuring division and company policies are consistently followed.
  • 7Lead by example, demonstrating solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements6

  • 110+ years of experience in a consulting business, preferably with a four-year degree.
  • 2Professional survey license with multi-state licensure preferred.
  • 3Proven leadership and supervisory skills, handling multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • 4Effective verbal and written communication skills, with independent judgment for complex decisions.
  • 5Experience with survey software and technology such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, and Leica.
  • 6Knowledge of GPS and GIS for survey data collection and analysis.
