Overview

Interim developmental role focusing on project management training at Powells. Candidate works with project management team to learn about Powells products and processes. Goal is to prepare candidates for full project manager roles.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Work with project management and other functions to gain exposure to project management best practices specific to Powells products and processes
  • 2Develop knowledge of project management processes and understand Powells project lifecycle
  • 3Learn scheduling basics and project financials and forecasting
  • 4Lead teams and manage meetings
  • 5Gain understanding of Powell products and risk management strategies
  • 6Manage change orders and pricing documentation
  • 7Maintain documentation management for post sales shipment and warranty processes
  • 8Utilize contract management and negotiation skills
  • 9Handle major buyout materials
  • 10Participate in ongoing training and build relationships with project team members and stakeholders
  • 11Complete formal rotational program across various Powell departments

Requirements12

  • 1Bachelor's degree in business engineering or related field from accredited institution
  • 21-3 years of project management experience in construction manufacturing oil & gas or power distribution industries
  • 3Member of professional body and project management certification preferred
  • 4Demonstrated ability to lead and influence matrix-organized teams
  • 5Strong interpersonal communication skills for stakeholder interaction
  • 6Detail oriented results driven mindset
  • 7Ability to make good decisions under limited information
  • 8Skills in negotiating with customers subcontractors and key stakeholders
  • 9Strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • 10Proficiency with computer systems
  • 11Physical ability to stand walk sit reach and lift up to 65 pounds
  • 12Ability to maintain body equilibrium and agility
