Overview

Lead the federally funded TRiO Upward Bound program at Morehouse College. Design implement manage plan coordinate and ensure success of the program. Facilitate activities encouraging underrepresented students to overcome barriers to postsecondary education. Work with administrators counselors staff community agencies TRIO staff and student services areas. This role differs by focusing on program-wide oversight and strategic planning.

What You'll Do14

  • 1Oversee staff and deliver service to students annually
  • 2Supervise staff and manage UB daily operations
  • 3Assist in preparation of project reports for submission to the U.S. Department of Education and/or college administration
  • 4Supervise planning development implementation and evaluation of program goals and objectives
  • 5Work collaboratively with target high school staff faculty and parents in program delivery
  • 6Recruit prospective students from target high school and middle schools to program
  • 7Recruit hire train supervise evaluate staff
  • 8Meet with parents and students creating individualized educational plans
  • 9Develop manage monitor program budget and expenditures
  • 10Coordinate marketing and public relations efforts in conjunction with the College
  • 11Serve as internal and external program liaison
  • 12Provide quarterly progress reports
  • 13Monitor and evaluate program components utilizing student data to meet program goals
  • 14Consistently attend work activities and functions as scheduled

Requirements12

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in education psychology social services or related field
  • 2Four years of experience assisting middle and high school students with college preparation
  • 3Three years of experience supervising TRIO or related programs with diverse populations
  • 4Master’s degree preferred
  • 5Knowledge of TRIO programs
  • 6Experience working with first-generation low-income and disabled students
  • 7Proven success in grant administration and writing
  • 8Ability to adhere to federal and college policies and procedures
  • 9Track record of positive student outcomes
  • 10Knowledge of youthful behavior and culture
  • 11Understanding of multicultural differences and challenges
  • 12Budget management skills
