Overview
The Program Budget Manager – Business Operations strengthens financial planning and resource allocation across programs. Reports to the Associate Director of Operations and partners with Finance and Program leadership. This role optimizes budgets aligns with funder requirements and drives cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do11
- 1Partner with department leads to support agencywide and program-level budgeting processes
- 2Review and analyze budgets for alignment with funder budgets and internal assumptions
- 3Facilitate discussions with program directors to align budgeting practices with goals
- 4Standardize budgeting practices and implement tools to streamline processes
- 5Support mid-year budget reviews and reforecasting by analyzing spending trends
- 6Identify inconsistencies between internal and funder budgets for reconciliation
- 7Analyze grant and contract spending to maximize funding utilization
- 8Lead initiatives to improve time reporting accuracy and efficiency
- 9Coordinate quality assurance for staffing allocations and grant compliance
- 10Assist with financial modeling for advance drawdowns and cash flow timing
- 11Develop and maintain a compliance calendar for key deadlines
Requirements11
- 1At least 3 years in social justice human services nonprofit management
- 2At least 2 years building and managing teams
- 3At least 2 years contracts management experience
- 4At least 2 years budget management and invoicing experience
- 5At least 2 years grant procurement experience
- 6Strong leadership and cross-departmental collaboration skills
- 7Familiarity with accounting principles and government contracts
- 8Proficiency with MS Office Excel and Salesforce
- 9Strategic thinking with inclusive design orientation
- 10Ability to design transparent decision-making processes
- 11Demonstrated leadership in building high-performing teams
