Production Support Manager, Market Risk Technologies
Overview
You will own operational assurance for the market risk platform supporting VaR, FRTB, and stress testing at a major New York City bank. This Executive Director role leads a team of production support engineers, ensuring platform stability and rapid incident resolution. You will work closely with quants, developers, and business stakeholders to drive reliability. The role is hybrid, with 5 days in the office every 2 weeks, a salary of $200-250K, plus 20% bonus and benefits.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the incident management process for market risk systems, ensuring SLA adherence and root cause analysis.
- 2Drive 24/7 support operations, including on-call rotation and escalation management.
- 3Collaborate with development teams to design and implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for Python and Java applications.
- 4Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for Linux and Oracle environments.
- 5Manage vendor relationships and coordinate patching and upgrades.
- 6Develop and maintain runbooks and documentation for production support processes.
- 7Mentor and guide a team of support engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
- 8Communicate status and risks to senior management and stakeholders with clear metrics and dashboards.
Requirements7
- 110+ years in production support or site reliability engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- 25+ years supporting financial risk systems, specifically VaR, FRTB, or stress testing.
- 3Strong expertise in Linux administration and scripting with Python or Shell.
- 4Experience with Oracle databases and SQL query optimization.
- 5Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
- 6Familiarity with monitoring tools like AppDynamics or Splunk.
- 7Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
