What You'll Do7

  • 1Perform 180+ tests on refinery process samples and finished products, including density, color, viscosity, and knock testing.
  • 2Execute complex methods like automatic distillation, titration, and gas chromatography per SOP and regulatory standards.
  • 3Apply QC/QA processes to ensure accuracy and precision, validating data and performing calculations.
  • 4Report test results, identifying risks and taking corrective action to eliminate errors.
  • 5Drive compliance with ASTM, CARB, EPA, and in-house testing methods in daily operations.
  • 6Maintain planning and organizational skills to manage shift work and rotating schedules.
  • 7Operate and troubleshoot lab instruments, ensuring reliability in a 24/7 environment.

Requirements8

  • 1High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Natural Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or Technology (Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing) preferred.
  • 23+ years of full analytical laboratory testing experience if no degree.
  • 3Valid California Driver's License and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • 4Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime in a 24/7 operation.
  • 5Proven safety record and commitment to Incident and Injury Free operations.
  • 6Strong computer skills and problem-solving ability.
  • 7Preferred: 10+ years lab testing experience, refinery process knowledge, and SPC understanding.
  • 8Preferred: Knowledge of ASTM methods for GC, AA, IC, XRF, and wet chemistry.
