We seek a strategic leader to head our newly formed Product Engineering department. This manager oversees product engineering across the full lifecycle from development to release while collaborating with Manufacturing Field Services Sales Engineering Product Management and utility customers. The ideal candidate blends technical expertise with deep knowledge of utility infrastructure and composite structures.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead mentor and develop a high-performing product engineering team
- 2Establish engineering priorities aligned with company strategy and market opportunities
- 3Drive innovation in new composite utility pole designs and structural product offerings
- 4Evaluate emerging technologies and materials to support product advancements
- 5Partner with Product Management and executives to execute strategic roadmaps
- 6Oversee engineering validation testing and product release activities
- 7Act as technical escalation point for customer support and field services
- 8Collaborate with Sales Engineering Manufacturing and quality teams to align engineering with business goals
- 9Support commercialization of products from concept through production release
- 10Coordinate cross-functional resolution of technical issues and stakeholder alignment
- 11Provide engineering input for proposals and strategic growth initiatives
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 27+ years of engineering experience in utility infrastructure or composites
- 3Proven leadership with 2+ years in supervisory or technical team lead roles
- 4Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical standards
- 5Strong problem solving skills demonstrated through root cause analysis
- 6Excellent communication abilities for technical and nontechnical audiences
- 7Experience with electric utility transmission or distribution structures
- 8Knowledge of composite materials and NESC requirements
- 9Familiarity with reliability-centered design and storm hardening principles
- 10Valid driver’s license and passport required
- 11Physical stamina for prolonged computer use and occasional manual tasks
