Principal Product Manager - Utilization Management
Overview
Lead the strategy for Utilization Management products at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. Own the roadmap for UM foundational capabilities, appropriate payments, and compliance initiatives. Direct Product Owners and cross-functional teams to align priorities with customer needs and enterprise goals. What You'll Do10
- 1Co-lead product strategy and roadmap for Utilization Management products, aligning with business objectives and operational performance.
- 2Provide leadership to Product Owners and cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative culture.
- 3Drive product lifecycle management, including performance monitoring and innovation opportunities.
- 4Partner with compliance, operations, clinical, and business teams to set priorities and allocate resources.
- 5Ensure governance across UM foundations, appropriate payments, and compliance initiatives.
- 6Act as the voice of customer, evaluating existing products and industry data to improve market lines.
- 7Review and recommend actions on existing products, investigating market opportunities.
- 8Develop short- and long-term Market/Product Strategy Roadmaps with Product Owners.
- 9Support Product Lifecycle Management to monitor clinical, financial, and operational performance.
- 10Provide input into funding needs for strategic growth or cost control outcomes.
Requirements10
- 17+ years of related project/program management experience.
- 2Bachelor's degree; or additional two years of experience in lieu of degree.
- 3Demonstrated Utilization Management (UM) experience with strong understanding of operations and processes.
- 4Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience.
- 5Direct people leadership experience with ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
- 6Ability to translate complex information into actionable messaging and drive alignment.
- 7Working knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- 8Experience with agile planning tools such as Jira or Mural.
- 9Experience in data-driven decision-making and process improvement.
- 10Preferred certifications: Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
