Overview
Lead mechanical design for radar systems and subsystems at RTX. Own development of motion control actuation systems, geartrains, and bearings while driving projects from concept through production. What You'll Do11
- 1Develop technical solutions for mechanism and machine design challenges supporting advanced radar systems and subsystems
- 2Design and analyze motion control actuation systems including custom actuators geartrains and bearings
- 3Perform kinematic and dynamic analysis of mechanisms with first-order structural thermal tolerance and margin analyses
- 4Support full mechanical design lifecycle from requirements development concept generation trade studies material selection and GD&T application
- 5Create and support 3D models engineering drawings tolerance analyses and manufacturing documentation
- 6Partner with manufacturing and test teams to support prototype builds tooling development integration and verification testing
- 7Participate in technical design reviews ensuring designs meet performance quality manufacturability and reliability requirements
- 8Lead mechanical development efforts for radar systems balancing technical performance schedule cost and risk
- 9Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams suppliers and program leadership to drive technical execution and resolve complex design challenges
- 10Provide technical leadership and sound engineering judgment with minimal oversight and significant latitude in determining technical approaches
- 11Decompose high-level tasks into discrete work packages and tasks
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret security clearance
- 3Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 4Experience with military aerospace or commercial mechanical design
- 5Development of actuation drive systems including power management motor and gear train sizing bearing configurations
- 6Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
- 7Experience with CREO Pro/E or similar 3D solid modeling software
- 8Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical or similar finite element analysis tools
- 9Strong communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and customer interactions
- 10Advanced degree in Mechanical Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
- 11Ability to decompose complex tasks into manageable work packages
