Principal Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Semiconductor Assembly
Overview
Electrical and Mechanical engineering experts will own assembly quality for mission critical products at scale in a regulated environment. You will manage quality processes for soldered and mechanical assemblies and interact with customers on quality matters. This role blends hands on quality engineering with continuous improvement and cross functional collaboration in a high reliability manufacturing context. You will influence product readiness from design through production through audits and 8D/CAPA processes.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain inspection criteria, workmanship standards, control plans, and PFMEAs for assembly operations
- 2Review drawings, travelers, and work instructions for compliance and quality readiness
- 3Lead inprocess inspections and final product acceptance
- 4Ensure compliance with MIL, IPC, and JEDEC standards and support AS9102 First Article Inspections
- 5Lead MRB activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions using 8D/CAPA methodologies
- 6Present customer facing quality reports and drive issue resolution with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
- 7Drive continuous improvement through PFMEA and risk based methodologies across assembly processes
- 8Partner with cross functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers to resolve quality gaps
- 9Mentor junior quality professionals and contribute to a culture of quality across production environments
- 10Maintain hands on involvement in mid to high volume production to ensure sustained quality outcomes
Requirements9
- 1BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or related field
- 26-15+ years of quality engineering experience in assembly manufacturing environments
- 3Strong experience supporting mechanical and or soldered assemblies
- 4Hands on experience in mid to high volume production environments
- 5Working knowledge of IPC standards (IPCA610, JSTD001) and military/aerospace standards (MILSTD, JEDEC)
- 6Experience with PFMEA, control plans, MRB, and 8D/CAPA processes
- 7Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- 8Strong communication skills including customer facing interactions
- 9U.S. Person status required (ITAR)
