Overview
Draper seeks a Principal Digital Engineering Hardware in the Loop simulation Architect to apply systems-thinking and advanced methodologies to complex system-level problems. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams across aerospace electronics avionics software development and simulation to deliver innovative solutions for defense missile and space systems. The ideal candidate excels in product ownership technical mentorship and rapid prototyping.
What You'll Do11
- 1Architect integrate verify and validate system-level simulations within aerospace project lifecycles
- 2Lead hardware-in-the-loop simulation solutions acting as Product Owner
- 3Conceptualize and lead HWIL solutions with minimal management direction
- 4Develop simulation CONOPs use cases and requirements
- 5Design simulation architecture including interfaces infrastructure and models
- 6Write and automate test plans
- 7Integrate real-time hardware interfaces and develop new software models
- 8Act as subject matter expert in System Modeling and Simulation engineering
- 9Integrate 3D visualization tools and maintain in-house real-time software framework
- 10Collaborate across diverse teams to meet customer and internal needs
- 11Mentor technical staff and manage competing priorities
Requirements11
- 1Master’s degree in Engineering Computer Science Mathematics or related field
- 2PhD preferred
- 37-10 years Systems Engineering experience
- 4Professional software development in C/C++ and MATLAB Simulink
- 5Strong analytical problem-solving abilities
- 6Experience with embedded computing communication interfaces
- 7Knowledge of Linux operating systems and RISC-V architectures
- 8Proven track record in technical leadership and stakeholder engagement
- 9Ability to develop quick turn-around prototypes and drive productization
- 10Experience with aerospace avionics development and HWIL simulation
- 11Government security clearance required
