Principal E&E Engineer, Test Solutions
Overview
You will design, develop, and integrate test equipment capabilities for Raytheon products in multidisciplinary engineering teams. Working 100% onsite in Tewksbury/Andover, MA, you will own test station designs, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), and harnesses from concept to deployment. Your team, the Test Solutions group, builds and deploys test systems for advanced aerospace and defense systems. You will manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of projects while troubleshooting and resolving issues across the design and integration lifecycle. This role offers long-term stability and advancement potential in a mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design production test stations, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), and harnesses for Raytheon products
- 2Develop test equipment capabilities within multidisciplinary engineering teams, integrating COTS instruments like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and network analyzers
- 3Create technical drawings, schematics, and circuit designs using Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, or Creo Schematic
- 4Integrate and automate test instrumentation for factory production and military depot environments
- 5Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during design, development, and integration of test systems
- 6Support project planning, proposals, and technical issue resolution, mentoring early career staff
- 7Apply knowledge of RTX projects and systems to enhance daily work and drive improvements
- 8Design, test, and integrate digital, mixed-signal, and electrical system interconnects
- 9Perform analog, digital, and/or RF design for test solutions
- 10Own the full product development lifecycle for assigned test projects, balancing technical, cost, and schedule constraints
Requirements7
- 18+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a Bachelor's degree in STEM (or 5+ years with an Advanced degree)
- 2Experience in electrical troubleshooting, analysis, and testing of complex systems
- 3Proficiency in electrical design and analysis, interpreting schematics with Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, or Creo Schematic
- 4Hands-on experience with COTS test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters
- 5Experience developing and implementing programming languages for test automation
- 6Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship
- 7Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
