Principal Cisco Network Engineer CCIE
Overview
Own the architecture and evolution of Cisco-based trading networks supporting real-time market data across on-prem and cloud environments. Your design decisions will scale data distribution to thousands of endpoints with multicast streaming and deterministic packet forwarding. Lead network innovation in a demanding financial services setting, where every microsecond counts. You'll craft resilient solutions that withstand peak trading loads and shape network strategy for years.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design multicast-based network topologies for low-latency trading floors, fine-tuning PIM and IGMP for optimal data delivery.
- 2Champion Cisco platforms from Nexus to ASR, pushing their limits for deterministic performance under extreme load.
- 3Drive network scalability in AWS and Azure, integrating VPC peering and Direct Connect to extend trading reach.
- 4Automate network operations with Python and Ansible, reducing manual toil and ensuring rapid deployment of changes.
- 5Lead incident response for critical trading outages, performing root-cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
- 6Collaborate with security teams to harden network infrastructure, enforcing ACLs and segmentation across the estate.
- 7Mentor mid-level engineers, instituting best practices for network design, testing, and documentation.
- 8Shape the network roadmap, aligning engineering initiatives with trading business goals and performance requirements.
Requirements9
- 1CCIE certification (R&S or Service Provider) is required, with 5+ years in enterprise or trading network architecture.
- 2Expert command of multicast protocols (PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, MSDP) and their application in data-heavy environments.
- 3Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS, evidenced by 8+ years hands-on with Cisco devices.
- 4Proficiency in Python or Go for automating network tasks through REST APIs and CLI scripting.
- 5Hands-on experience with Aruba or Cisco wireless solutions in a campus or branch setting.
- 6Skilled in designing and troubleshooting QoS, CoS, and traffic shaping for low-latency, high-throughput flows.
- 7Track record of leading large-scale network projects from design through implementation, including cloud migration.
- 8Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capability to perform packet-level analysis using Wireshark.
- 9Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating network architecture to senior business and technical stakeholders.
