Overview
PreK Lead Teacher owns classroom instruction and leadership for a preschool classroom of up to 20 children at Poised For Success Learning Academy in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Director, you will implement a positive behavior reinforcement system and age-appropriate curriculum that builds foundational skills. You will collaborate with a small team of 1-3 educators, assess student growth, and communicate with parents regularly. This role stands out because you will shape a young child's first school experience with high, consistent expectations in a supportive environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily classroom instruction and manage all activities aligned with student learning and development goals, using positive behavior reinforcement.
- 2Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
- 3Assess student progress through observation and formal assessments, providing feedback to guide individual learning paths.
- 4Manage student behavior with a consistent, positive approach to create a safe and engaging classroom climate.
- 5Communicate weekly with parents about student progress, classroom activities, and strategies to support learning at home.
- 6Supervise students during all classroom and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
- 7Collaborate with a team of 1-3 teachers to coordinate instructional strategies and share best practices.
- 8Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and developmental milestones.
- 9Participate in monthly professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills and stay current with early childhood research.
- 10Support each child's social and emotional development through intentional relationship-building activities.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience in early childhood education, with direct classroom teaching experience.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
- 3Demonstrated ability to design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- 4Proficiency in using child assessment tools and maintaining accurate records.
- 5Strong classroom management skills with a positive, reinforcement-based approach.
- 6Excellent verbal and written communication skills for parent and team collaboration.
- 7Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
- 8CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
