Policy Manager Youth Safety & Wellbeing - Trust and Safety
Overview
We seek a Policy Manager to lead global youth safety initiatives at TikTok. This role develops comprehensive policies protecting young users while balancing autonomy and expression. You will shape how policy product and operations collaborate to keep youth safe at scale.
What You'll Do11
- 1Develop iterate and maintain age appropriate content policies bridging safety and expression
- 2Ensure youth harm standards are clear enforceable and aligned with international child protection frameworks
- 3Support youth specific feature and product policies including defaults recommendations and parental controls
- 4Engage external stakeholders to integrate expertise into youth safety and wellbeing policies
- 5Partner with enforcement operations and product to enhance moderation systems
- 6Analyze and communicate complex child safety topics to internal and external audiences
- 7Collaborate cross functionally with product technical legal and operational teams
- 8Navigate child safety detection tools and emerging technologies
- 9Advocate for wellbeing programs addressing physical and mental health of employees
- 10Lead policy communication driving organizational alignment on youth safety challenges
- 11Monitor regulatory changes shaping youth online safety regimes globally
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 5+ years experience in Trust and Safety Child Protection Policy Public Policy Law Prevention Science Social Work or related field focused on youth safety
- 2Deep understanding of youth online harm landscape including CSAM and developmental risks
- 3Familiarity with evolving youth regulatory frameworks and age appropriate design codes
- 4Strong ability to translate complex safety concepts for diverse audiences
- 5Cross functional collaboration with product technical legal and operational teams
- 6Technical proficiency with child safety detection tools and systems
- 7Advanced degree in child and adolescent psychology or development or equivalent experience
- 8Proven global technology company trust and safety policy governance background
- 9Experience with public policy or law relevant to digital platforms
- 10Commitment to inclusive workplace practices and reasonable accommodations

$122 - $272k per year
