Own general sworn law enforcement duties across Maricopa Community Colleges during a 9 month academic calendar. Operate 40 hours per week with potential overtime and non standard shifts including nights weekends and holidays. Serve at a home campus location with opportunities for overtime and off duty assignments. Join a large district focused on community safety and education

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build patrol and security presence to deter crime and protect life and property
  • 2Deter and prevent crime by patrolling campuses and facilities
  • 3Respond to emergencies alarms medical calls and incidents and take appropriate action
  • 4Investigate criminal activity conduct searches and preserve evidence
  • 5Prepare detailed reports present testimony in court and mediate disputes
  • 6Direct traffic enforce motor vehicle regulations and provide crowd control
  • 7Conduct face to face interviews gather statements and coordinate with first responders
  • 8Provide public safety education and outreach to the college community
  • 9Train and supervise Public Safety Aides and other staff
  • 10Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements10

  • 1High School Diploma or GED
  • 2AZPOST peace officer certification in good standing
  • 3Valid Arizona Driver License Class D
  • 4Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • 5Background check including polygraph fingerprinting and psychological evaluation
  • 6Ability to carry firearms and operate a marked police vehicle
  • 7Willingness to work 9 month schedule including nights weekends holidays
  • 83 professional references
  • 9Demonstrated ability to meet required qualifications at time of application
  • 10Must meet ongoing firearms qualification requirements
