PLM Application Engineer, Windchill & Teamcenter Remote
Overview
You will own the technical operation of the PLM platform across installation, configuration, performance tuning, upgrades, integrations, and high availability for a large enterprise ecosystem. Working with functional, engineering, and manufacturing teams, you will deliver a reliable, performant, and secure PLM environment. The stack centers on PTC Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter, with Oracle and SQL Server databases and Linux/Unix systems. What You'll Do9
- 1Install and configure PTC Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter in production environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- 2Tune Windchill or Teamcenter performance, analyzing system metrics and adjusting configuration to meet service level targets.
- 3Plan and execute PLM upgrades and migrations, coordinating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and data loss.
- 4Integrate PLM with CAD tools and enterprise systems using brokers like ThingWorx or Teamcenter Integration Framework, handling data flow and security.
- 5Automate repetitive operations with shell scripts, Python, or Ansible, reducing manual effort and human error.
- 6Diagnose and resolve complex issues in PLM applications, databases, and infrastructure, documenting root causes and preventive measures.
- 7Support Oracle and SQL Server database administration tasks, including backup, recovery, and performance monitoring for PLM data stores.
- 8Maintain Linux/Unix servers, applying patches, managing permissions, and ensuring stability for PLM services.
- 9Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to gather requirements and translate them into PLM configuration changes.
Requirements8
- 16+ years of PLM platform administration experience, with hands-on production exposure to either PTC Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3Proven experience executing PLM upgrades and migrations, including planning and rollback strategies.
- 4Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database administration.
- 5Strong Linux/Unix administration skills, including performance tuning and security hardening.
- 6Experience operating high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for PLM environments.
- 7Familiarity with PLM integration brokers and middleware (e.g., ThingWorx, TIBCO, or custom APIs).
- 8Scripting skills in shell, Python, or Ansible for automation of routine tasks.
