Full time day shift position overseeing surgical scheduling for a comprehensive plastic surgery department. Responsible for managing complex case timelines and ensuring efficient workflow across multiple specialties. This role drives operational excellence within a Magnet accredited academic medical center.
What You'll Do11
- 1Coordinate case times for elective urgent or emergent surgeries using computerized scheduling systems
- 2Verify physician privilege status and maintain confidential patient information
- 3Acquire authorization numbers and verify current laboratory results
- 4Types and prints physician orders while scheduling physician block time
- 5Enter lab orders and compile statistical reports for management
- 6Conduct charge management audits and reconcile billing packets
- 7Act as receptionist answering patient and staff inquiries
- 8Manage facility work orders and coordinate instrument deliveries
- 9Maintain confidentiality while acting as liaison between departments
- 10Prepare monthly staff call rosters and handle administrative documentation
- 11Ensure smooth workflow during high-pressure situations with minimal supervision
Requirements11
- 12 years of healthcare scheduling experience
- 2Knowledge of medical terminology and payor contract processes
- 3Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
- 4Ability to maintain accurate statistical records and produce reports
- 5Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities
- 6Experience with case management models for complex patient navigation
- 7Familiarity with AWS Certified protocols for data security
- 8Understanding of Kubernetes principles for system scalability
- 9Experience with React frameworks for interface development
- 10Expertise in Python for data analysis tasks
- 11Certification such as CPC Card or BCBA preferred
