Plant Mechanic (Preventative Maintenance)
Overview
Toho Water Authority seeks a skilled Plant Mechanic Apprentice to support water and wastewater plant operations through preventive and reactive maintenance. You will perform tasks such as flushing check valves, checking motor components, and maintaining emergency generators. - 1Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Spark and Airflow
- 2Design and implement automated monitoring solutions
- 3Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical systems
- 4Execute daily preventive maintenance checks on equipment
- 5Assist in generating work orders and documentation
- 6Conduct confined space entry using gas monitors
- 7Calibrate and test safety equipment
- 8Analyze incident reports to identify root causes
- 9Maintain and service backup power systems
- 10Inspect and service company vehicles and tools
- 11Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency
Requirements7
- 1Minimum of a high school diploma or GED from an approved administrator
- 2Valid Florida Class E driver's license upon hire
- 3Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- 4Physical stamina for standing and moving throughout the day
- 5Strong understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostic procedures
- 6Willingness to work in dynamic environments with varying weather conditions
