Physical Therapist, Outpatient Orthopedics
Overview
You will own patient recovery outcomes at a high-volume outpatient clinic in Los Angeles, evaluating and treating 12-15 patients daily. You will collaborate with a team of PTs and PTAs to deliver personalized care plans. This role offers direct patient interaction from day one, with the autonomy to shape treatment approaches for diverse orthopedic cases. You will see measurable progress in your patients' mobility and independence, making a tangible impact on their quality of life.
What You'll Do7
- 1Evaluate new patients, design treatment plans, and set measurable goals within the first week.
- 2Guide patients through exercises and functional tasks, adjusting form and intensity for safety and progress.
- 3Document each session, tracking progress and modifying plans for optimal recovery.
- 4Train patients on support devices like walkers, canes, and wheelchairs to enhance mobility at home.
- 5Inspect and sanitize therapy equipment daily to maintain a safe, clean gym floor.
- 6Coordinate with referring physicians and other therapists to align care and discharge planning.
- 7Lead patient education on injury prevention and home exercise programs.
Requirements6
- 1Current California PT license and CPR certification
- 22+ years in outpatient orthopedic or sports rehabilitation
- 3Proficiency with EHR systems and documentation
- 4Hands-on manual therapy skills and exercise prescription
- 5Strong communication to build rapport with patients and families
- 6Ability to make clinical decisions in a fast-paced rehab setting
