What You'll Do8
- 1Lead initial patient assessments within 24 hours of admission to establish baseline mobility and set recovery goals, using APTOS documentation for efficient tracking.
- 2Design personalized physical therapy plans that address each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs, adjusting based on weekly progress notes.
- 3Supervise and direct physical therapist assistants and technicians during treatment sessions, ensuring care meets CMS guidelines.
- 4Deliver direct inpatient care, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and manual therapy, to help patients regain independence.
- 5Drive patient motivation by setting short-term milestones and celebrating each achievement, fostering a positive rehabilitation experience.
- 6Coordinate with the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to align therapy goals with discharge plans.
- 7Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and safety strategies to prevent re-injury after discharge.
- 8Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on objective data, patient tolerance, and progress toward functional outcomes.
Requirements7
- 1Current Physical Therapist licensure as required by state regulations in Florida.
- 2CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers) active and in good standing.
- 3Master's degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's degree plus 1+ years of clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
- 4Experience with CMS regulations for rehab admissions and patient documentation.
- 5Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs and assist patients with mobility challenges.
- 61+ years of experience in acute care or inpatient rehab is strongly preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- 7Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
