Overview
The Physical Therapist will assess plan organize and participate in rehabilitative programs to improve mobility relieve pain increase strength and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. - 6Obtain informed consent for proposed interventions
- 7Test and measure patient strength motor development function sensory perception functional capacity or respiratory efficiency
- 8Review physician referrals and medical records to determine diagnosis and treatment needs
- 9Discharge patients when goals are met and arrange appropriate follow up care or referrals
- 10Instruct patients and families on home treatment procedures
- 11Administer manual exercises massage or traction to relieve pain increase strength or prevent deformity
- 12Direct supervise assess and communicate with support personnel
- 13Refer patients to appropriate practitioners when diagnoses indicate issues beyond physical therapy scope
Requirements10
- 1Minimum two years experience orthopedic preferred
- 2Knowledge of diagnosing and treating human injuries diseases and deformities including symptoms treatment alternatives drug properties and preventive health care
- 3Understanding of human behavior performance individual differences learning motivation and psychological research methods
- 4Knowledge of diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions career counseling practices
- 5Ability to meet quality standards for customer service through needs assessment and satisfaction evaluation
- 6Strong communication writing listening and critical thinking skills
- 7Flexibility creativity patience and strong organizational abilities
- 8Ability to lift 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking climbing bending and squatting
- 9Current license as a Physical Therapist in Michigan
- 10Ethical honest reliable responsible dependable collaborative and composed under stress
