What You'll Do8
- 1Collect blood specimens from patients using standard phlebotomy techniques.
- 2Receive, sort, and access specimens for laboratory testing.
- 3Complete patient registration and test order entry in the LIS system.
- 4Operate BD Vacutainer and other pre-analytic lab equipment.
- 5Maintain a clean and stocked work area per OSHA standards.
- 6Monitor pending work and escalate priority tests like STAT orders.
- 7Distribute reports and store or retrieve specimens as needed.
- 8Document quality control activities and report deviations.
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or GED prior to start date.
- 2CPT I or CPT II certification prior to start date.
- 3Knowledge of specimen collection and processing procedures.
- 4Ability to handle biological specimens safely.
- 5Skill in using laboratory information systems.
- 61+ year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
- 7Familiarity with CLIA and HIPAA regulations.
- 8Effective verbal and written communication skills.
