What You'll Do11
- 1Perform precise venipuncture procedures using straight needles and butterfly equipment
- 2Collect and accurately label diverse specimen types including blood urine and fecal samples
- 3Execute comprehensive specimen processing including centrifugation freezing and secure packaging
- 4Validate all test requisitions against computerized labeling systems to prevent errors
- 5Educate patients about collection procedures while ensuring comfort and cooperation
- 6Maintain sterile environments through regular decontamination protocols
- 7Adhere strictly to OSHA and DEP safety regulations in all operational activities
- 8Collaborate with laboratory teams to troubleshoot workflow challenges
- 9Provide result updates to patients via telephone communication
- 10Document all patient interactions with meticulous attention to detail
- 11Participate in continuous training programs to enhance technical competencies
Requirements7
- 15+ years managing phlebotomy operations in dynamic healthcare settings
- 2State-specific phlebotomy certification preferred
- 3High School Diploma or equivalent credential required
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications demonstrated
