Pharmacy Technician, Retail & Prescription Processing
Overview
You will own prescription input and processing at a busy Walmart Supercenter pharmacy, serving thousands of customers each month. You will support patient health by providing product information and ensuring accurate fulfillment. What You'll Do8
- 1Input and process prescriptions using Connexus and EPIC systems, ensuring accuracy and speed during peak hours.
- 2Assist customers with product information, insurance billing, and over-the-counter recommendations, resolving issues on the spot.
- 3Prepare and label medications, verifying against patient profiles to prevent errors.
- 4Manage inventory, including receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical products, reducing out-of-stocks.
- 5Drive customer satisfaction by greeting and checking in patients, handling inquiries, and coordinating with pharmacists.
- 6Support pharmacy operations during morning and opening shifts, maintaining workflow and cleanliness.
- 7Train new technicians on standard operating procedures and Walmart systems, sharing best practices.
- 8Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines to protect patient privacy and workplace safety.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting.
- 2Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent; GED accepted.
- 4Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- 5Strong math skills for calculating dosages and insurance copays.
- 6Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
- 7Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and opening shifts.
- 8Pass a background check and drug screening, meeting Walmart employment standards.
