Pharmacy Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding
Overview
You will own prescription fulfillment and inventory accuracy for a high-volume pharmacy, processing daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision. Your shift runs Monday to Friday from 4 PM until close, with rotating weekend availability. Working on-site in Columbus, Ohio, you collaborate with a team of technicians and pharmacists to maintain compliance with HIPAA and state regulations. What You'll Do9
- 1Fill daily drug orders accurately under pharmacist supervision using PTCB CPhT certification standards.
- 2Process returned drugs, recycle or dispose of them per procedure, and document actions.
- 3Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them during low volume times.
- 4Manually package materials and products, ensuring proper seals and labels.
- 5Pull and pick medications from shelving and storage, verifying correct product and strength.
- 6Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks, flagging scan failures.
- 7Alert the pharmacist on duty immediately about medications that do not scan properly.
- 8Maintain workstation areas, replenish stock supplies, and adhere to safety and dress codes.
- 9Assist with overtime, holiday, and weekend shifts as required, following departmental policies.
Requirements7
- 1High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB CPhT) required.
- 3Ability to work at a moderate speed while maintaining accuracy.
- 4Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- 5Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- 6Capability to sit or stand for 7-10 hours per day and lift up to 25 pounds.
- 7Visual acuity for reading fine print, color vision, and hearing normal voice sounds.
