Pharmacy Technician I

Pharmacy Technician I supports pharmacists by preparing prescription orders in a closed-door specialty pharmacy environment. The role focuses on fulfilling orders for partner manufacturer free drug programs for patients with chronic illnesses. Responsibilities include verifying medications, packaging pharmaceuticals, and supporting shipping operations. What You'll Do11
- 1Work closely with pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders for timely dispensing and shipment
- 2Operate under the direct supervision of a pharmacist following all policies and procedures
- 3Locate and verify correct medication strength and quantity for order picking
- 4Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for pharmacist review
- 5Support fulfillment activities for partner manufacturer free drug programs
- 6Assist with inventory management and maintain accurate inventory records
- 7Retrieve discontinued medications and update inventory recap reports
- 8Discard expired medications and complete required documentation
- 9Maintain prescription logs and ensure regulatory compliance
- 10Calibrate pharmacy equipment and document activities
- 11Contribute to maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs
Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2At least 1 year pharmacy technician experience or equivalent medical office experience
- 3Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician license
- 4Familiarity with drugs for chronic illnesses
- 5Strong attention to detail in medication verification
- 6Ability to follow calibration procedures
- 7Understanding of safety and regulatory requirements
- 8Experience with inventory management in pharmacy settings
- 9Knowledge of fulfillment-focused pharmacy operations
- 10Experience with medications for Multiple Sclerosis preferred
