Pharmacist, Pharmacy Operations & Leadership
Overview
You will own prescription verification, patient counseling, and immunization services at a growing independent pharmacy next to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. Your role spans daily operations and strategic growth, with direct input on inventory, workflow, and provider relationships. You will supervise technicians and drive improvements in patient service and pharmacy performance. This position offers a real path to Pharmacist-in-Charge and performance-based profit sharing.
What You'll Do10
- 1Verify and dispense prescriptions with MMS and PrimeRx, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 2Counsel patients on medications and communicate with prescribers to resolve therapy issues.
- 3Adjudicate claims and resolve PBM rejections using tools like MMS.
- 4Handle prior authorizations and explore medication affordability options for patients.
- 5Manage inventory by ordering from primary and secondary wholesalers such as McKesson or Cardinal Health.
- 6Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in daily tasks and workflow.
- 7Administer immunizations to eligible patients.
- 8Support hospital discharge prescriptions and transitions of care for patients from Adventist HealthCare.
- 9Improve workflow and patient service, and help build relationships with local providers.
- 10Participate in operational and business decisions to grow the pharmacy.
Requirements8
- 1Active Maryland pharmacist license in good standing.
- 2Community or retail pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- 3MMS and/or PrimeRx experience strongly preferred.
- 4Understanding of PBM claim adjudication and insurance troubleshooting.
- 5Experience with pharmaceutical wholesaler ordering and inventory management.
- 6Independent pharmacy experience is a plus.
- 7Leadership, management, or business experience is a plus.
- 8Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Salary Insight
$115 - $130k per year
