Pharmacist, Dermatology & Compounding
Overview
Own medication dispensing and patient counseling in a Dallas pharmacy focused on dermatology and custom preparations. Work with PDMP, EPCS, and DEA systems to manage prescriptions and controlled substances. Collaborate with technicians and leadership to refine workflow and compounding processes. This role offers part-time hours with weekend shifts and possible full-time transition.
What You'll Do8
- 1Verify and dispense prescriptions using PDMP and EPCS systems, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- 2Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions, tailoring advice to dermatology treatments.
- 3Supervise pharmacy technicians and coordinate daily workflow to meet patient demand.
- 4Prepare non-sterile compounded medications following USP 795 guidelines, including creams and ointments.
- 5Maintain compliance with DEA regulations and complete required documentation for controlled substances.
- 6Perform inventory management, including ordering and rotating stock to prevent shortages.
- 7Train new staff on pharmacy procedures and software systems like RX30 and PioneerRx.
- 8Collaborate with leadership to implement workflow improvements and increase prescription throughput.
Requirements5
- 1Active Texas Pharmacist License.
- 2Willingness to obtain Tennessee and Florida licenses within 90 days.
- 32+ years of pharmacy experience, with compounding experience preferred.
- 4Strong leadership and communication skills.
- 5Ability to work 20-30 hours per week, including every other Saturday from 9AM to 1PM.
