Personal Care Attendant, Day Shift
Overview
You will own resident care for adults with physical disabilities at Myers Court, a fully accessible apartment complex in North Portland. You handle daily living support including hoyer lifts, bladder and bowel care, and meal assistance. Backed by a supportive team and QUAD Inc.'s person-centered mission, you work the 6am-3pm shift. This role stands out for its $20/hour base pay plus $1/hour attendance bonus and birthday PTO.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assist residents with full transfers using hoyer lifts and manual techniques, ensuring safety and dignity.
- 2Provide bladder and bowel care with precision and respect, documenting each task accurately.
- 3Deliver grooming, dressing, and medication assistance according to each resident's care plan.
- 4Prepare meals and support feeding, promoting independence through adaptive equipment.
- 5Keep apartments clean via housekeeping duties, including laundry and surface sanitization.
- 6Turn and reposition bedbound residents every 2 hours to prevent pressure sores.
- 7Document all care tasks in the electronic health record within 15 minutes of completion.
- 8Coordinate with nursing staff to adjust care plans based on resident feedback and observed changes.
Requirements8
- 1Current Oregon Food Handlers Card or ability to acquire within 2 weeks of hire.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; prior caregiving experience preferred.
- 3Proven ability to perform physical transfers, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- 4Demonstrated punctuality and attendance record, as required for the $1/hour bonus.
- 5Strong communication skills to interact respectfully with residents and team members.
- 6Commitment to a person-centered approach and maintaining resident confidentiality.
- 7Pass a background check prior to employment.
- 8Availability for weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule.
