Overview
Nitra seeks a high‑ownership People Operations Associate to build the operational backbone of HR from the ground up as we scale rapidly toward unicorn status. This is a rare, high‑ownership opportunity to define how a category‑defining company runs People operations without inheriting a legacy playbook. You will own the infrastructure behind performance reviews compensation and onboarding while partnering directly with leadership across the organization.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build core People Ops infrastructure — stand up and own the HRIS employee records policies and workflows that keep a fast‑growing org running cleanly and compliantly
- 2Design and run performance review cycles — create a structured defensible performance management process end to end including calibration manager guidance and tooling
- 3Own compensation analysis and structure — support benchmarking leveling frameworks and compensation bands to operationalize merit promotion and equity processes with rigor
- 4Create a world‑class onboarding experience — design and execute onboarding so new hires ramp quickly understand the bar and feel set up to win from day one
- 5Manage offboarding — run a thoughtful compliant offboarding process that protects the company and treats departing members with respect
- 6Drive team enablement and manager and leadership training — build and coordinate programs that level up managers from new‑manager fundamentals to ongoing development
- 7Own HR compliance — maintain compliance with federal state and multi‑state employment requirements including leave classification and recordkeeping
- 8Build people analytics and reporting — establish metrics dashboards and reporting that give leadership visibility into headcount retention performance and org health
- 9Be a trusted point of contact — serve as a go‑to resource for employees and managers on People matters handling sensitive situations with discretion and care
- 10Partner cross‑functionally — collaborate with leadership recruiting finance and operations to ensure People programs reinforce the way the business actually runs
Requirements5
- 13+ years of experience in People Operations HR or a closely related operations role ideally at a startup or high‑growth environment
- 2Track record of building processes and infrastructure from scratch not just maintaining existing ones
- 3Hands‑on experience across the People Ops stack: HRIS administration performance review cycles onboarding offboarding and compliance
- 4Comfort working with data and analysis to pull structure reason about compensation benchmarks headcount and people metrics
- 5Strong knowledge of US employment law and HR compliance including multi‑state considerations
