What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents with mental health concerns
- 2Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including medication management and psychotherapy
- 3Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications as appropriate
- 4Provide individual family and group therapy using evidence based approaches like CBT and DBT
- 5Collaborate closely with pediatricians therapists and other healthcare professionals for integrated care
- 6Educate patients and families on mental health conditions treatment options and self care strategies
- 7Maintain accurate confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- 8Participate in case reviews multidisciplinary team meetings and continuous professional development
Requirements11
- 1Active and unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Washington DC
- 2CRNP-PMH Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health
- 3APRN-PMH Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Mental Health
- 4Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing MSN or DNP from an accredited program
- 5At least 2 years of experience in pediatric psychiatric care
- 6Expertise in assessing and managing psychiatric conditions in children and adolescents
- 7Knowledge of developmental psychology and common mental health conditions in youth
- 8Strong interpersonal communication and team collaboration skills
- 9Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- 10Proficiency with electronic health records systems and maintaining patient confidentiality
- 11DEA Control Substance License
