Pediatric Home Care RN/LPN, Trach & Vent
Overview
You will own 1:1 care for a 2-year-old with a trach, vent, and g-tube in the Mounds View area, directing day or night shifts with bonus pay. You join a 24/7 clinical team that handles all training for trach, vent, and g-tube care, so no prior pediatric experience is required. This role pairs flexible scheduling with a supportive, mission-driven culture that has placed children first since 1990.
What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver hands-on, 1:1 pediatric nursing care in the family home, managing a trach, vent, and g-tube with precision.
- 2Build a daily routine that keeps your 2-year-old client engaged, comfortable, and thriving despite complex medical needs.
- 3Monitor vital signs and respiratory status, adjusting ventilator settings within standing orders and flagging changes immediately.
- 4Administer medications and tube feedings through the g-tube, documenting intake and output in real time.
- 5Coordinate with the 24/7 clinical support team when questions arise, tapping into their expertise around the clock.
- 6Educate parents on care techniques and daily observations so they feel confident during your off-hours.
- 7Rotate between day and overnight shifts, earning a +$1 to +$2 hourly boost on weekends and nights.
- 8Document all care in the electronic health record, capturing concise notes that keep the whole team aligned.
Requirements8
- 1Current RN or LPN license in Minnesota, with an active nursing practice.
- 2Pediatric Home Service onboarding includes trach, vent, and g-tube training, but you must be willing to master those skills fast.
- 31+ year of clinical nursing experience, preferably with complex pediatric cases or home health.
- 4Comfortable with ventilator alarms, trach suctioning, and g-tube feeding pumps in a quiet home setting.
- 5Valid CPR certification (BLS or PALS) that remains current throughout employment.
- 6Reliable transportation to the Mounds View area, with the flexibility to shift between day and night schedules.
- 7Strong clinical judgment and clear communication, especially when working solo in a client's home.
- 8Physical stamina to lift and position a growing toddler, plus fine motor skills for precise trach care.
