PCB Design Engineer, Aerospace & Defense Hardware
Overview
Own board-level digital electronics design for mission-critical avionics and missile hardware. Lead schematic capture and support PCB layout across the full hardware lifecycle at scale in a collaborative IPT. You will perform electrical analyses, debugging, integration, testing, and certification activities that drive reliability and performance. This role provides hands-on design work in a fast-paced aerospace environment with experienced teams and opportunities to influence hardware certification and design standards.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build board-level digital circuit designs and schematic capture for advanced avionics and missile hardware
- 2Collaborate with layout engineers to ensure manufacturable, robust PCB designs
- 3Perform electrical analyses including WCA, EPSA, and FMECA to validate reliability
- 4Support hardware integration with systems, software, manufacturing, and test teams
- 5Execute hardware bring-up, testing, and performance characterization of digital boards
- 6Troubleshoot board-level issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and support failure investigations
- 7Contribute to hardware certification by generating and reviewing analyses and test evidence
- 8Communicate findings and decisions through presentations, documentation, and design reviews
- 9Participate in continuous improvement of processes, tools, and standards across hardware programs
- 10Work within an IPT environment to ensure designs meet system-level requirements
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 23+ years of professional electrical hardware design experience
- 3Hands-on experience with digital circuit design and board-level schematic development
- 4Proficiency with schematic capture tools for PCB design
- 5Experience supporting aerospace or defense hardware development programs
- 6Experience performing electrical analyses such as Worst Case Analysis and related reliability assessments
- 7Experience supporting electronics failure investigations and troubleshooting complex board-level issues
- 8Active Secret Clearance
- 9U.S. Citizenship
- 10Strong communication and presentation skills
