Payroll Manager, Transportation
Overview
We seek a skilled Payroll Manager to lead payroll across the organization and partner with HR Operations Finance and field leadership. This role builds payroll structures policies and controls for a growing platform while providing hands-on technical leadership and people development opportunities.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead payroll processing for employees across field and office operations
- 2Partner closely with HR Operations Finance and field leadership to resolve payroll questions
- 3Own audit and validation of payroll data timecards labor allocations and supporting documentation
- 4Process payroll adjustments benefit deductions garnishments and other payroll transactions accurately
- 5Design document and enforce standardized payroll policies procedures and controls for consistency
- 6Serve as UKG payroll subject matter expert optimizing system configuration reporting and workflows
- 7Oversee payroll tax compliance quarter-end and year-end activities including W-2 processing tax filings account reconciliations and coordination with external tax agencies
- 8Develop payroll metrics and dashboards to monitor accuracy processing efficiency compliance and service levels
- 9Ensure compliance with California wage and hour law and payroll regulations across all states and jurisdictions
- 10Train and manage payroll staff establishing consistent standards of performance and accountability
- 11Maintain strict confidentiality while exercising sound judgment
Requirements7
- 17+ years progressive payroll experience
- 2Strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws
- 3Advanced proficiency in UKG Payroll and familiarity with Workforce Management
- 4Exceptional attention to detail with strong auditing analytical and problem-solving skills
- 5Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-through and ability to manage competing priorities
- 6Professional communication skills to build trusted relationships across HR Operations Finance and field leadership
- 7High level of ownership accountability professionalism integrity and discretion
