What You'll Do9

  • 1Teach Paramedic courses in accordance with approved syllabi and CoAEMSP standards, providing timely feedback and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • 2Develop and update course syllabi and curriculum, ensuring materials are current and accessible via the college's online learning platform and SharePoint site.
  • 3Deliver instruction in both live in-person and online formats, adapting teaching methods to optimize student performance.
  • 4Advise students on academic and career paths in EMS, supporting their progression through the program.
  • 5Maintain student records and documentation as required by accreditation standards, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • 6Inspect and maintain program equipment and supplies, verifying compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and performing inventory control.
  • 7Complete required reports and course documentation, including assessment planning and student performance tracking.
  • 8Pursue professional development through courses, seminars, and workshops, and develop an annual plan aligned with the College's mission.
  • 9Collaborate with division staff to coordinate varied programming and contribute to institutional goals.

Requirements8

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2Current South Carolina Paramedic certification.
  • 3Current National Registry Paramedic certification.
  • 43+ years of Paramedic experience at the certification level to be taught.
  • 5Possess or be eligible to obtain South Carolina DPH EMS instructor certification appropriate to the instructional level.
  • 6Required instructor methodology training.
  • 7Current CPR instructor credential.
  • 8Ability to perform essential functions, including demonstrating EMS skills, using instructional equipment, and supporting patient simulation scenarios.
