Painter/Maintenance Mechanic Job in Boston, MA
Overview
You will own building repairs and painting across the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital network, keeping patient and staff areas safe and operational. You will respond to emergency repairs, maintain HVAC systems, and handle painting services per hospital standards. You will work onsite in Boston with the Mass General Brigham facilities team, collaborating with electricians and plumbers. This role offers a stable schedule and the chance to support a top rehabilitation hospital.
What You'll Do8
- 1Respond to emergency repairs within department timeframes and meet OSHA requirements for safety.
- 2Operate and maintain mechanical equipment in a safe, serviceable condition.
- 3Replace lights and nurse call lights, repair beds and patient equipment, and adjust temperature controls.
- 4Complete painting services per established hospital guidelines.
- 5Document all repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments per department and regulatory guidelines.
- 6Maintain the preventative maintenance program per timeframes and OSHA requirements.
- 7Keep safety equipment and tools available and in working order.
- 8Assist HVAC, electrical, and plumbing trades with installations and basic repairs.
Requirements8
- 11-2 years prior trades experience required.
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent required; Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma preferred.
- 3Section 608 Technician Certification from the Environmental Protection Agency preferred.
- 4Knowledge of safe maintenance practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- 5Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills in English.
- 6Computer proficiency required; Microsoft Office preferred with ability to learn new software.
- 7Work independently, be self-directed, and contribute as a team member.
- 8Ability to stand, walk, balance, and handle materials constantly; lift, carry, push, pull, and reach frequently.
Salary Insight
$48 - $69k per year
