Packer/Shipper for Warehouse Operations
Overview
You own the packing and shipping process for a high-volume warehouse in Houston, Texas, ensuring every order leaves accurate and damage-free. You use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to pick, pack, and ship orders while maintaining inventory precision. Collaborate with a tight-knit warehouse team and carriers to meet daily shipping deadlines. What You'll Do7
- 1Pack products with cardboard, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts to protect items during transit.
- 2Scan barcodes with RF scanners to pick and pack orders into AS400 and ERP systems.
- 3Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks and forklifts, following safety protocols.
- 4Verify quantities and labels against inventory software to catch errors before shipment.
- 5Keep packing stations stocked and organized, and assist with cycle counts.
- 6Coordinate with carriers for pickups and document shipment details in shipping logs.
- 7Comply with international trade regulations when preparing export orders.
Requirements7
- 11+ year in warehouse operations, shipping, or fulfillment (preferred, not required).
- 2Familiarity with ERP or AS400 systems and inventory management software.
- 3Basic math skills to count and verify quantities accurately.
- 4Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely (certification preferred).
- 5Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for order processing.
- 6Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance is a plus.
- 7Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
