Packaging Designer at SKIMS | CAD & Brand Design
Overview
You will own the design and execution of packaging systems for SKIMS, a global brand at the intersection of culture and commerce. From concept to shelf, you will craft innovative packaging that reflects the elevated brand aesthetic while meeting sustainability and cost targets. You will collaborate with Creative, Marketing, and Production teams to ensure every unboxing feels intentional. This role places you at the center of a high-growth company, where your designs directly shape the consumer experience.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design innovative packaging solutions that reflect SKIMS' elevated brand aesthetic and enhance the consumer experience.
- 2Evolve the SKIMS packaging system, ensuring consistency across product lines and seasonal launches.
- 3Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to align packaging with campaign storytelling and brand standards.
- 4Partner with graphic designers and copywriters to finalize packaging text, graphics, and visual details.
- 5Work with Product Development and Production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of designs.
- 6Produce detailed specifications and handoff documents for suppliers, reviewing prototypes for quality.
- 7Test and refine materials with suppliers, printers, and vendors to qualify finishes and prototypes.
- 8Build packaging mock-ups to support design reviews and decision-making.
- 9Conduct market and trend analysis to keep packaging engaging and aligned with expectations.
- 10Present final designs to stakeholders and leadership, managing multiple projects to meet deadlines.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field.
- 2Proven experience as a packaging designer.
- 3Proficiency with CAD or AutoCAD and other 3D design software.
- 4Familiarity with various packaging materials and their applications.
- 5Knowledge of consumer packaging health and safety regulations.
- 6Experience with market research and product placement advertising.
- 7Natural talent for design and a keen eye for detail.
- 8Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 9Marketing experience is a plus.
