Senior Retail Packaging Quality Advisor
Overview
You will lead packaging safety and quality for a major retail portfolio, owning material standards, supplier audits, and compliance programs. You will work with poly-coated paperboard, PP cups, PLA, and molded pulp to drive innovation and sustainability. Your team partners with global suppliers and cross-functional groups to resolve quality issues and implement robust standards. This role offers direct impact on product safety and supplier performance, with flexibility for remote work for exceptional candidates.
What You'll Do8
- 1Apply technical packaging knowledge to food-contact and non-food-contact materials, including poly-coated paperboard, PP, PLA, and molded pulp.
- 2Support testing and product assessments for packaging innovations, sustainability initiatives, and supplier performance.
- 3Analyze product and supplier quality signals, audit findings, metrics, field feedback, and regulatory information to identify trends.
- 4Lead investigations and resolution of packaging-related issues, partnering with suppliers and global teams.
- 5Develop and implement packaging quality programs, product standards, and supplier quality requirements.
- 6Support manufacturing and process capability assessments, ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO, GFSI, or BRC standards.
- 7Ensure packaging products meet product safety, quality, and compliance requirements through rigorous review.
- 8Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality and packaging specifications.
Requirements10
- 13-5+ years in retail packaging, packaging QA, supplier quality, or materials-focused quality experience.
- 2Strong packaging/material science knowledge with emphasis on plastics, pulp, and paper.
- 3Experience with food-contact packaging, disposable cups, lids, paper, plastics, compostable fiber, and related materials.
- 4Experience developing and implementing quality programs and product standards.
- 5Experience performing manufacturer, supplier, or product quality audits.
- 6Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO, GFSI, and/or BRC-compliant quality management systems.
- 7Experience reviewing information required for product safety and quality compliance.
- 8Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- 9Microsoft Office proficiency.
- 10Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
