Overview
You will lead the overnight stocking team at a high-volume Walmart Supercenter, owning the backroom operation from truck unload to shelf-ready freight. You will coordinate a crew of associates, operate forklifts and other heavy machinery, and ensure accurate inventory flow in a fast-paced retail environment. What You'll Do9
- 1Lead and supervise the overnight stocking team, assigning tasks and monitoring productivity to meet nightly freight goals.
- 2Unload trucks and process incoming merchandise, using forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight safely.
- 3Oversee the stocking of shelves and end caps, ensuring accurate product placement and backroom organization.
- 4Train new associates on proper stocking techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- 5Conduct cycle counts and inventory checks, reconciling discrepancies in the inventory management system.
- 6Coordinate with day-side management to prioritize freight flow and communicate any issues or delays.
- 7Enforce safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and machinery usage, to prevent injuries.
- 8Maintain a clean and hazard-free backroom, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- 9Drive team performance through coaching and recognition, meeting or exceeding hourly productivity targets.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience in a retail or warehouse environment, including 6+ months in a leadership role.
- 2Forklift certification preferred, with ability to operate electric pallet jacks and walkie riders.
- 3Ability to lift objects weighing 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- 4Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a 24-hour operation.
- 5Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and management.
- 6Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- 8Willingness to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
