Overview
As the Overnight Stocking Coach, you own the overnight operations for a non-complex Walmart store, directing a team of hourly associates to execute inventory flow and merchandising standards. You lead freight processing, stocking, and zoning to ensure shelves are full and customers find what they need. Working with store leadership, you align overnight priorities with daytime sales goals and company initiatives. This role centers on coaching and developing your team, fostering a culture of belonging, and driving performance metrics. You will directly influence store profitability by managing expenses, reducing shrink, and improving the customer experience.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the overnight stocking team to complete freight processing and shelf restocking before store opening, using Inventory Management systems to track progress.
- 2Coach associates on One Best Way procedures for stocking, zoning, and modular execution, providing real-time feedback and recognition.
- 3Monitor store sales and expenses by reviewing P&L statements, adjusting labor and resources to meet financial targets.
- 4Coordinate seasonal transitions and new modular sets, ensuring accurate product placement and signage.
- 5Enforce safety and compliance with company policies, including Open Door and ethics, conducting regular audits.
- 6Develop associates through hiring, training, and mentoring, building a pipeline for future leadership.
- 7Partner with store management to align overnight execution with day-side merchandising and customer service initiatives.
- 8Use data from Salesfloor and Workday to shift priorities and address bottlenecks in real time.
Requirements8
- 12 years of college or 1 year retail experience plus 1 year supervisory experience, or 2 years general work experience with 1 year supervisory experience.
- 2Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, and hiring.
- 3For facilities with firearms, successful completion of Firearms Authorized Training and a Criminal Background Check.
- 4Willingness to complete all job-required trainings, including Academy and Open Door modules.
- 5Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends.
- 6Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate a team.
- 7Basic proficiency with Retail Link and Inventory Management software is preferred.
- 8Bachelor's degree in Business Management through Live Better U or equivalent is preferred.
