Overview

You will own DME and brace support across the Orthopaedic clinic and surgery center, fitting patients and managing inventory to improve outcomes. You will join a team of 56,000+ at UNC Health, working with providers, nurses, and vendors on Epic and Vision systems. This role offers a $5,000 commitment incentive and a Monday-Friday schedule. You will make a direct impact on patient care and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Fit and educate patients on orthopedic devices per provider orders, ensuring proper sizing and usage within manufacturer guidelines
  • 2Build relationships with patients, providers, and vendors to coordinate care and resolve DME issues
  • 3Manage inventory PAR levels, order stock, and track supplies through Vision software
  • 4Train staff to apply products per safety standards and verify compliance
  • 5Document and bill DME accurately in Epic, following payer requirements
  • 6Audit inventory and report shortages to leadership to prevent delays
  • 7Introduce new products to faculty and add them to Epic preference lists
  • 8Support the DME Coordinator with operational tasks and adapt to patient needs

Requirements6

  • 1High School diploma or GED
  • 2BLS certification required
  • 32+ years in Orthopaedics with NBCOT certification, LPN degree, or EMT degree
  • 45+ years in Orthopaedics without those credentials
  • 5Experience with vital signs and medical terminology
  • 6ABC or BOC Orthotic Fitter certification preferred
