What You'll Do11
- 1Teach age-appropriate classes in violin viola and cello fundamentals
- 2Introduce beginning music theory ear training and basic ensemble skills
- 3Prepare students for informal performances and scheduled recitals
- 4Create positive inclusive environment fostering joy and confidence in music-making
- 5Communicate regularly with families about progress and performance opportunities
- 6Maintain attendance and basic records for each student
- 7Design engaging lessons that align with Montessori and STEAM educational approaches
- 8Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning styles and developmental needs
- 9Coordinate with other arts instructors to integrate music into school events
- 10Lead beginning string ensembles or chamber groups
- 11Obtain CPR/First Aid certification
Requirements8
- 1Strong proficiency in violin viola and cello
- 2Experience teaching string instruments to children ages 5-12
- 3Enthusiasm for nurturing Montessori-inspired environment
- 4Clear communication and classroom management skills
- 5Physical ability to lift 25 pounds and work on floor
- 6Degree in Music Education or current music student with teaching experience
- 7Background in Suzuki or similar early childhood string methods
- 8CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
