What You'll Do16
- 1Prepare patients for exams with physicians
- 2Check condition of patient eyes by observing pupils muscles visual acuity and extraocular movements
- 3Record medical history current medications and confirm purpose of visit
- 4Document all data in electronic medical records
- 5Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy diseases symptoms and ocular medications
- 6Triage phone calls from patients with concerns
- 7Perform dilation refraction pressures and diagnostic tests such as visual fields OCT Fundus Camera Pentacam IOL master auto refractor and Specular Microscopy
- 8Assist physicians during exams by transcribing comprehensive notes
- 9List proper diagnoses symptoms and follow-up instructions as directed
- 10Update medication modules and ensure results are documented
- 11Maintain clean organized exam rooms and prepare equipment
- 12Support patient flow by scheduling surgeries and transferring information
- 13Manage medical records and send prescriptions
- 14Ensure compliance with HIPPA and OSHA regulations
- 15Travel to satellite clinics as needed
- 16Communicate effectively with patients coworkers and doctors
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2COA or COT certification
- 3High school diploma or GED
- 4Strong computer skills
- 5One-year ophthalmic or optometric technician experience
Salary Insight
$35 - $52k per year
