Overview
Operate water or wastewater treatment plant processes and raw water pump stations for the Trinity River Authority. Monitor plant operations, run lab tests, and adjust flows under close supervision. What You'll Do8
- 1Monitor plant operations with field instrumentation and lab test results to maintain treatment parameters.
- 2Adjust plant flows and process conditions via SCADA or hands-on control.
- 3Perform routine inspections of mechanical equipment and report repair needs.
- 4Conduct preventative maintenance and grounds upkeep to keep facilities safe.
- 5Collect samples at key process points and run lab tests per SOP.
- 6Maintain accurate process logs and enter data into computer systems.
- 7Follow safety protocols, handle chemicals, and respond to emergency flood conditions.
- 8Take responsibility for plant security during night shifts and emergency call-outs.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 2Entry-level; no prior experience required.
- 3Obtain TCEQ Class D Water or Wastewater Operator Certificate within 1 year.
- 4Obtain Class C Certificate within 3 years.
- 5Valid Texas driver's license.
- 6Pass a physical and physical ability assessment.
- 7Within 6 months, independently run lab tests and interpret results.
- 8Comfortable with adverse weather, confined spaces, and heights.
- 9Basic math skills and ability to document daily activities.
