Overview
The Operations Junior Data & Staffing Analyst supports leadership and practice groups by analyzing data to drive strategic initiatives. This role collaborates with Practice Group Management and administrative departments to improve workload management and operational efficiency. It is a fast-paced collaborative position requiring strong organizational skills and effective communication.
What You'll Do17
- 1Pull, organize, and analyze data from finance timekeeping and billing systems to identify trends and support decision-making
- 2Run weekly monthly and ad hoc reports to align with business goals across operations client service and relations
- 3Maintain data hygiene across databases ensuring consistency accuracy and completeness
- 4Build and manage SharePoint lists with advanced functionality connecting data from multiple systems for leadership access
- 5Develop forms that automatically funnel data into spreadsheets or dashboards for real-time tracking
- 6Use APIs PowerShell scripts and automation tools to connect systems push and pull data streamline processes
- 7Assist in transition and quality assurance of data between management systems and new software platforms
- 8Design maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards translating complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
- 9Compile operational and staffing reports analyzing utilization capacity productivity and matter assignment data
- 10Utilize Power Automate Microsoft Lists Microsoft Excel and SharePoint to create automated workflows for staffing and headcount
- 11Monitor timekeeper workloads identify staffing gaps and provide recommendations to practice group leadership
- 12Coordinate with Legal People Operations Finance and Recruiting to manage attorney assignments and staffing needs
- 13Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on attorney productivity billable hours staffing allocation and operational metrics
- 14Work with practice group leaders to understand business goals plan for future needs and allocate resources effectively
- 15Set up efficient workflows task tracking calendars and systems for organizing legal information
- 16Serve as key contact between partners lawyers and support departments to assist practice group objectives
- 17Identify and implement process improvements leveraging technology resources and proven methods
Requirements12
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration ComputerData Science Data Mining and Analytics Engineering Statistics Economics or related field
- 21+ years of experience in computerdata science legal operations staffing coordination finance or professional services operations
- 3Prior experience in law firms or professional services settings preferred
- 4Experience and working knowledge of SQL required
- 5Advanced Excel including pivot tables formulas macros and data modeling
- 6Advanced SharePoint functionality including list setup permissions or automation
- 7Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
- 8Experience with APIs and data integration across systems
- 9Experience with Python for data applications
- 10PowerShell scripting for workflow automation and data transfer
- 11Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills
- 12Strong attention to detail data accuracy and system integrity
Salary Insight
$73 - $83k per year
