Operations Associate, Applied AI Lab & Cybersecurity Startup
Overview
You will own the day-to-day operations at Cogent Security, an Applied AI Lab building AI agents for cybersecurity. You will manage workplace operations across San Francisco and New York, own people operations from recruiting to onboarding, and lead events that build the brand. Partner directly with founders and the Head of Bizops on special projects. This role offers rare exposure to company-building end to end, with a clear path to leadership growth.
What You'll Do7
- 1Own office logistics for San Francisco and New York locations, including supplies, landlord relationships, and company swag from concept to delivery.
- 2Plan and execute off-sites, coordinating schedules, venues, and activities for the team.
- 3Own recruiting coordination and onboarding end to end, from scheduling and offer logistics to designing new hire ramp programs.
- 4Handle legal and immigration coordination, ensuring accuracy and discretion with employee information.
- 5Run the Cogent Founder Academy, from curriculum design to participant management.
- 6Dream up and own events that build the Cogent brand, including concept, logistics, and invitations, while building a recurring events calendar.
- 7Partner with founders and the Head of Bizops on strategic initiatives, tackling special projects as they arise.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally at a startup (open to less if high-slope and quick to pick things up).
- 2Background in an ambiguous, cross-functional role such as people operations, workplace operations, office management, or events management.
- 3A self-starter who can unblock themselves and drive work without heavy direction.
- 4Good taste and a point of view on what makes an office, offsite, or onboarding experience actually good, not just checked off a list.
- 5Comfortable owning work across very different domains without dropping details.
- 6Energized by a fast-moving, high-intensity environment rather than drained by it.
- 7Reaches for AI tools as a default way of working, such as building scripts or automations to solve problems.
- 8Strong written communication: clear, simple, and calibrated to the audience.
- 9Experience handling sensitive employee information with accuracy and discretion.
