Overview
You will own upper extremity rehabilitation for a diverse caseload at Advanced Orthopaedics, a division of Ortho LoneStar, in Houston, Texas. Working under a licensed OT, you will execute treatment plans, fit splints, and drive patient outcomes after injury or surgery. What You'll Do7
- 1Implement treatment plans for upper extremity rehab, using therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities under OT supervision.
- 2Fabricate, fit, and adjust splints to support healing and functional gains.
- 3Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, joint protection, and ergonomic adaptations to sustain progress.
- 4Monitor patient response and document progress, flagging changes to the supervising OT for plan updates.
- 5Maintain compliant documentation that meets clinic policies and payer guidelines.
- 6Oversee OT technicians and students as delegated, ensuring quality care and task clarity.
- 7Contribute to clinic operations, equipment maintenance, and community outreach to elevate patient access.
Requirements8
- 1Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited OTA program.
- 2Texas OTA license in good standing, displayed per the Texas Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
- 31-2 years of outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy experience preferred.
- 4Proficiency in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, splinting, and use of rehab equipment.
- 5Skilled in Microsoft Office and EMR software for charting and scheduling.
- 6Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally, with full range of motion for patient handling.
- 7Strong clinical reasoning to adapt plans based on patient response and feedback.
- 8Clear communication with patients, families, and the OT team to ensure coordinated care.
